restaurant on Hua Hin beach

City officials Hua Hin will meet with beach restaurant operators next Wednesday to persuade them to lower the outrageous prices for food and beach chair rentals.

This after a Thai woman complained on her Facebook account about the high prices for food on the beach. She thought it was pure fraud.

The prices for renting beach chairs or beach beds are also too high. A Thai catering entrepreneur in Hua Hin charges 100 baht for the use of a beach bed if the customer does not order food.

The municipality wants to introduce the same policy as on the beaches of Cha-am, Phetchaburi and Manao where the authorities have capped the cost for a sun lounger at 30 baht. The operators on Hua Hin beach must sign an agreement for this.

The municipality does let it be known that there are no maximum prices for this food and drink can enforce, nevertheless they do talk to the entrepreneurs.

Dear. There is a difference between a lounger and a lounger. In Cha Am you pay 100 Bath for a lounger. You pay less for a sun lounger.

i always go after army beach . There a lounger costs 20 baht and a table 20 baht.
You can also eat/drink there for the normal price or just bring your own.
People who live there know that, but the tourists don't.
When I'm there I never see many foreigners but many Thais.
It's wonderful and nice and quiet........ isn't it wonderful
    Leave it that way haha

      Where is that army beach?

        Dear Cristian
I was there in 2018 it was fantastic.
I myself was in Phruap Kiri Khan towards SATTAHIP
        20 km past Jomtien.
        Little tourism and affordable.
The Military complex which is very large can be reached from the above place
about 7 km drive. It is a very nice park with lots of greenery.
And there is good food on the beach.
It is worth it and possibly accessible by train.

        Bernard.

          Dear Bernardo,
You were there on a sunny day, weren't you?
It is known to me and by experience that there are quite a lot of tourists and Thais. It is of course what you mean by a lot?
If you go outside the weekend it is less although it is quite busy, Saturday and Sunday many no longer go there because it is (over) full.
The quiet beaches are also expanded there with resorts, which does not make it any quieter.
By the way, on a quiet military beach I saw tourist buses the last time, so it will soon be over with the tranquility of the water if you are looking for it.

          You're talking about another beach.
And no NL There are not many tourists in Hua Hin then what Bernado is talking about I don't know is 300 km from Hua Hin

5 km from beach Khao Takiap, you drive towards Panburi on the car / highway and then you see it automatically you have to turn at the gas station then you pass the check well there is a soldier you say you are coming for a swim and you can drive on . I would put on a helmet, that has to be done everywhere when you come to an army base.
Have fun Christiaan maybe I will meet you this month I will come again after Hua Hin on April 22nd.

These are the same prices as in pattaya.

  5. George says up

In Scheveningen 650 Bath and if you walk away from there you have lost your stuff
In Pattaya 100 Bath and you can keep that chair all day even if you are away for an hour

    namesake Christian,

With beach of the army is probably meant Suan Son Pradiphat just south of Hua Hin on the other side of Khao Takiap.

Wish it was this cheap in Patong Beach (Phuket). My Thai wife never goes to the beach. I used to be able to rent one chair for 100 baht. Now I am obliged to rent a set, that is two chairs, one parasol and one table for 200 baht (price in March 2018). And because of that measure of significantly fewer chairs on the beach, almost everything is occupied. Its a shame, but there is nothing to do about it.

    • Henk says up

Happened to me there in Patong too. Had to pay for 2 seats. And later that one was taken away for other customers.
      They are brutal too.

Thailand is, of course, a paradise and a natural paradise. The capitalist worldview reigns supreme, even among parties that say they mean well with the working and poor class. Hospitals, restaurants (whether or not on the beach), construction companies, universities, factories: they all want the very best and the highest profits. It's take it or leave it. The capitalist engine begins to falter when demand falls (because then the price should fall) or when the advantage of one sector means the disadvantage of the other sector, in the short or longer term. Then a government that does not like to intervene and has no experience at all with it must do something. And that's the case here.
A government that actually can't do anything (at least that's what people think themselves; I think they can because whose beach in Huan Hin actually and the owner, the government in this case, cannot impose conditions on the use of his property, in the public interest?) and the business community that has no need to intervene at all.
The only solution is to deliberately lower the demand. So: avoid Hua Hin beach and write all your complaints on the internet.
